Originally I was going to share another Paris vlog today, but I randomly came down with something yesterday and didn’t have the energy to finish it up (read: I was at PR event for the blog, blacked out, and had flu-like for the rest of the day).
Instead, I’m sharing these photos from one of our last days in Paris. And I’m writing in live time! As in, it’s currently 12:15pm EST and I still haven’t clicked publish yet.
Speaking of Paris, I promise that the Paris-related content will be over soon. I have the last Paris outfit post scheduled for next week, and I’ll be sharing the rest of the vlogs over the next few days. Obviously when Patrick and I went on my trip, we took a lot of photos and video. But, I underestimated just how much we took and how much subsequent blog content there was. In retrospect, I wish I would’ve shared most of the photos and videos the week after we got back from our trip so the content was still “relevant.” Plus, most of these clothes are more for cold weather dressing and spring is almost upon us.
I guess you all will just have to bear with me another week!
This look combines several of my current favorites: turtlenecks, pinafore dresses, and naturally crazy hair. I’ve already talked about my love for turtlenecks on this trip, so I’ll share some thoughts on pinafore dresses. It was sometime last fall when I started to get really into layering dresses. I loved how a simple sleeveless dress could be worn during any season. It was a few weeks later that I learned that the fashion term for a dress like this is “pinafore.” Shortly after, I was browsing online for the best carrier of pinafore dresses. The result? ASOS.
Unfortunately, this gray striped dress is already out of stock, but here are some more budget-friendly options from ASOS:
When I travel, I love creating looks inspired by the style of the city’s inhabitants. One big dressing habit I noticed while in Paris was pairing tights with tennis shoes. I would spot a chic Parisian girl wearing tights with Nikes or Adidas tennis shoes on almost every street. This tights + tennis shoe combo is a very practical (yet chic) way to dress for winter in the city.
Ok, one more thing related to Paris. While working on this post, I got an email from the woman who took our engagement photos! I’ll do a full blog post soon sharing all the pictures, but here’s just one of the gorgeous photos from Katie Mitchell. If you ever need photos taken in Paris, work with Katie. She is the most wonderful, outgoing, friendly soul I have ever met. And her photography is just beautiful.
This weekend’s plans are very low-key: blog photo shoots, grocery shopping, working out, and lounging at home. But I am going to relish every second of sitting on the couch before life starts getting crazy. Starting March 11, there are five weekends in a row where Patrick and I will be out of town (or just one of us). And four of those five weekends are wedding-related. There’s a bachelor party, a bachelorette party, a bridal shower, and an actual wedding in the line-up!
